Welcome to ReistPhotography’s photoblog!

Hi there! I’m Tyson Reist, an independent photographer based out of New York City. As an NYC native, I get a huge kick out of shooting my city–inside and out. My work is focused mostly on interior and exterior architectural subjects, but I’ve also been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places for shoots. When I get a chance to travel and do a location shoot somewhere remote and exotic, like most photographers, I jump at the chance.
I grew up in the City before studying Applied Mathematics and Philosophy at Brown University. Over the years, I’ve worked in finance, weighed in as a foreign policy consultant for think tanks, and sold a few oil paintings here and there. For nearly a decade though, my photography has remained the constant. This is my photoblog, where I’ll be posting favorites from shoots, some behind the scenes commentary and media–still and video, tips, and technical How-To articles, as well as general commentary and thoughts.
It’s an exciting time to be a photographer. Check out the blog and explore the galleries at ReistPHOTOGRAPHY to see my work or contact me about collaborating on a job.

Stare. It’s the way to educate your eyes. Pry, Listen, Eavesdrop.
